Initial Sermon of Christopher Ferrill
On Sunday March 28, 2010 Minster in Training Christopher Ferrill will present his Initial Sermon during our morning worship @ 11 a.m. Those who know Chris, already know how serious he is about his walk with the Lord and upholding God's standards. We are truly in for a treat and we pray that God uses him mightily, not just on this Sunday but for the rest of his life.
40 DAYS OF FASTING
Each year around the lenten season we do a corporate fast known as the Daniel Fast. The concept of a Daniel Fast comes from Daniel 1:8-14 "But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you." Daniel then said to the guard, whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
The Daniel Fast begins Ash Wednesday and ends Easter Day for more info click here

Triple 10 Celebraton
This year we are celebrating what we are calling Triple 10 (2010, ten countries and ten years) God has blessed us to see the first decade of the new millenium, to make a decade as a church, and has more for us to do in the future. One of the visions of our church is to be more of a reflection of the kingdom of God in our cultural make-up. In order to prepare ourselves for the fulfillment of this vision we are celebrating ten different cultures this year. We will learn of their impact on Christianity, their artistic expressions (music, dance and cuisine) as well as participate in some of their worship styles. A schedule of the cultures we will be celebrating we will be posted very soon.
February- Black History Month/ Nigerian Culture- In honor we are wearing African garb or Kente patterned clothing, learning the traditional language of the nigerian people as well as celebrating famous African Americans who have made a difference in our world. We also are financially supporting The Shepherds Foundation in Lagos, Nigeria.
March- Middle Eastern INDIAN culture- Traditional Indian art will be displayed 1st Sunday, authentic Indian dancing 2nd Sunday, Indian Music 3rd Sunday and authentic Indian cuisine 4th Sunday.
